Position Title: Change Management Specialist Level 1

GEM Companies of Denver, CO is seeking a Change Management Specialist to join our team. This position will be located in Colorado Springs CO. The qualified applicant will provide support and facilitation to all Information Technology (IT) change management actions.  Produce implementation plans and monitor execution of the plans.  Coordinate and provide maintenance notifications.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will routinely perform activities associated with IT customer support, including but not limited to:

  • Works in a team environment to establish and execute a change management program for multiple systems/programs in various stages of development or operations.
  • Contribute to the documentation and life cycle management of changes.
  • Maintain change management tools and provides status accounting of changes.
  • Conduct audits of CM activities throughout a project's life cycle to verify compliance with established CM procedures and standards and to verify that system performance and functionality are compliant with specifications.
  • Produces reports on software releases related to delivered changes and various change management metrics.
  • Plans and/or facilitates internal change actions.
  • Acts as a liaison between the development and operations teams to communicate changes and expected issues in production environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of CM team process and quality improvements.
  • Works with management staff to produce CM strategies and plans for upcoming enhancements and / or roll-outs

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of change management practices, policies and procedures.
  • Possess the ability to create/analyze change accountability records.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and be proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to create SOPs and update processes.

 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience with Change Management and Tools
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • BMC Remedy Tool Suite or equivalent ITSM tools
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle Process
  • CMMI or ITIL v3 Foundations Certification and Experience

 

Education/Certification Requirement:

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline with 5 or more years related professional experience. (Education can be substituted for 7 or more years of experience working in this field).

 

Security Clearance Requirement: This position requires U.S. DOD Secret Clearance and TSA Suitability.  

 

Working Hours: Day, 8:00am 5:00pm
